2023 Donation Report

When you make a purchase at Ethos Kolekto, truly 100% of what you pay is used to help people and the planet. In addition to re-investing purchase profits with the artisans to re-stock the shop while continuing to provide the artisans with a fair living wage and other benefits, we also make Kiva loans and donate each month to a number of non-profit organizations. In 2023, those organizations were the Food Bank of the Rockies, the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI), UNCEF, and the World Food Program (WFP).

In an effort to be transparent about how we utilize what you pay us, we wanted to share a little update with last year’s donation amounts. While our shop is tiny and we often go months without making any sales, in 2023, we were able to send $300 to the Food Bank of the Rockies, $300 to the Jane Goodall Institute, $318 to UNICEF, and $300 to the World Food Program (and our Freerice group was able to donate 700,500 grains of rice).

These donations actually made up the biggest way that we spent profits last year, and with all that was going on in the world, we are happy to have done a small part in bringing relief to just a few of the many people in need!

If you like to help out in the world and you love to shop, this is the place for you! Rest assured that at Ethos Kolekto, we will do our very best to stretch your purchase dollars to have the furthest reach that they can. You get some fun new jewelry or accessories, and people you’ll likely never meet on the other side of the world will have some hope!
